I think this place can be great as long as you have a good waiter/waitress and your party is under one ticket based on my personal experience detailed below. Overall the food was good and we enjoyed trying a new place (for us) in Rockford. I went here on a Friday night around 7:15pm and there was about 20 people outside my party of 3. Our waitress wrote down orders on a corner of a napkin and brought me the wrong cocktail as I ordered a rum drink but received a whiskey cocktail instead. Then when ordering a second round of drinks she came out with the two two drinks and my friends had to say didn't you order a drink for her to turn around and say "did you want another drink" to which I said yes I ordered the Milk Stout. She said she forgot I said that and then came back 10 minutes later saying they were out. I read the list she brought me and asked for an additional few drinks until one was available. When it came time to split checks our food and drinks were all jumbled up and after asking to adjust we got them back and they were still wrong. Informed how to change it and when they came back after being swiped the charges were incorrect still. We just left and accepted it.

This was my first time in Harvey’s since it was last Irish Rose. I was happy to see the previous seating and decor restored. The food was exceptional but I expected nothing less from Paul Sletten. Tonight’s celebration was my 34th birthday and Kaitlyn went above and beyond to take care of us. She knew the details of each menu question we had and presented the specials as witty as stand up comedy. The kitchen was willing to split a steak between medium and well for us which even I realize is outside industry standard. I was sent a slice of chocolate cake at the end also. We will definitely be back!

Our first time dining at HW tonight. We had a party of 6 for a birthday celebration. The food was amazingly delicious; an interesting variety of offerings and generous portions. They had a good selection of drink options and the daily specials were posted on the wall board. The wait staff were welcoming and did a great job of serving us. A casual and comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back again to enjoy this high quality restaurant.

First time here; we really enjoyed everything. I had the Bavette Steak and my husband had the Harvey Burger. They were both grilled to perfection. The atmosphere was pleasant as well. So nice to see this type of restaurant in downtown Rockford. I had the Peirano Sea Enchantress Red Blend wine and it was perfectly matched with the steak. The server's name was Andrew and he did a great job serving us. We are looking forward to going back and will bring others.

Sometimes you show up at a random place and it just exceeds your expectations... check out Harvey Wallbangers if you are downtown in Rockford. This could be the new standard that the rest must live up to. It started with the chopped liver app, which I've never ordered before. Absolutely delicious. The chicken thighs entree was so flavorful, I want the recipe. My wife's pasta was super good too. Make this your next date night so we can keep this train rolling!
